Harley-Davidson reveals 2018 Softail range

The 2018 Harley-Davidson® Softail updated range has been revealed with improvements available to make the ride experience even better. With a new chassis and the introduction of the Touring Milwaukee-Eight engine, eight new Softail models will make up the comprehensive series.

Made of up of the existing Softail models, the 2018 range includes the Breakout, Slim, Deluxe, Heritage Classic and Slim. Joining the range are three that used to make up the Dyna series; Fat Bob, Street Bob and Lower Rider.

Increased engine options

With the Milwaukee-Eight 107 available as standard on the 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail, a further Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine will be an option on the Breakout, Heritage Classic, Fat Boy and Fat Bob.

Improved Acceleration

Set to increase acceleration both at 0-60mph and 60mph+, thanks to the Milwaukee-Eight 107 ahead of the existing High Output Twin Cam 103.  Similar improvements can be expected from the optional Milwaukee-Eight 114.

 New Softail Chassis

Lighter in weight and increased rigidity, the frame complements the increase in power. Simpler in design with fewer parts and welds, it is set to offer a 34% chassis stiffness increase.

Upgraded suspension

A new single shock and Showa dual-bending value fork features across the 2018 Softail range.

Reduction in weight

Set to reduce in weight by up to 35 pounds, the 2018 Softail range, performance is improved when complemented by the additional engine power.

Handling enhancement

With new tyres offered on some of the 2018 Softail range and others getting increased clearance when cornering, it really is a range where all improvements complement each other.

Introduction of Daymaker Signature LED Headlamps

Complementing the new LED Headlamps are new instrument displays and fuel tanks. This is joined by keyless ignition, security systems and USEB ports as standard.

Improved touring capabilities

Cargo carrying is increase on the Heritage Classic thanks to new lockable and weather resistant rigid bags. This is complemented by a new detachable windscreen.

Retains the existing Softail feel

The range of improvements to the Softail range perfectly complement the feel that riders have come to love and expect. Special Softail 115th Anniversary editions

With a range of special edition available that is set include a Heritage Classic 114, Fat Boy 114 and Breakout 114 to celebrate the Harley-Davidson 115th anniversary.Each will include exclusive numbering, seat, graphics and paint.
